Back in July, I went with my mother and my stepfather to a "cruise" around the Long Island sound which went passed several lighthouses; each with their own history and backstory. This one was undoubtedly my favorite. The story behind this lighthouse is that a very long time ago, soldiers were out-posted here to guard the lighthouse and the sound in the immediate area. Eventually, they ran out of food; and the only water they had was rainwater collected via a pipe system in within the lighthouse itself. Little did these soldiers know, but those pipes were made out of lead. All of them ended up getting lead poisoning, went insane, and died. Legend has it that the souls of those soldiers still roam around that lighthouse. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. However, I will say I did get goosebumps and felt a very unsettling presence as the ship went by.
